Youth News week of Nov. 2

Here's what is going on this week 11/2.

 Last week:

  We had a great time carving pumpkins and playing fun games! I hope you all had a great Halloween dressing up in all those crazy costumes! Thank you to everyone that helped out with the Preschool Halloween Happening, you rock!

This Week: We begin our 3-week program on Thanksgiving. You don't want to miss this thought-provoking and fulfilling program.

As we leave behind the “season” of Halloween and fear we enter the “season” of Thanksgiving. The American holiday of Thanksgiving can sometimes mask the true state of being thankful for the abundance of blessings we enjoy in our lives and this country.

The next three weeks leading up to Thanksgiving, we’ll focus on what the holiday means to Christians.  There is an aspect of being thankful for all that God has provided for us, but included in this is a calling to share those blessings.  It is not enough to accept (or sometimes hoard) the blessings from God, we are to take those and bless others.

This program challenges us to see Thanksgiving, the holiday, as a state of being and not only as a day to stuff ourselves.

Study Hall: Wednesday 2:30-5:00pm in the Fireside Room

-Come get your homework done before youth group. Snacks and refreshments provided.

Youth Group: Wednesday 5:30-8:00pm in Fellowship Hall

-We begin our school time schedule, dinner included.

Table Set-Up: Friday 6:00pm (Fellowship Hall)

-We'll set up tables and chairs for a United Methodist Women event. We need your help!

Loaves & Fishes: Sunday 2:00-4:00pm

-We'll go to Wesley UMC to help pass out groceries to people in need.

-SDSU Aztec Football vs. Wyoming Cowboys (Saturday November 14)

*Last day to register for this event is Sunday November 8.

-Frisbee Golf (Monday November 23)

*Last day to register for this event is Sunday November 15.
