Youth News week of Dec. 7

Print

Here's what is going on this week 12/7.

 Last week:

We had a great discussion on how we can FULLY WORSHIP Jesus in this time of Christmas. We had a very large turn-out of youth at Worship last Sunday. It was great to sit together and listen to Pastor Sue give her sermon on SPENDING LESS & GIVING MORE.

This Week: We'll begin our 4-week Christmas program: "Re-Thinking Christmas"

This Christmas we aim to reconnect with the true meaning of the season. We return to the symbols (birth, manger, gifts), ideas (humility, sharing, community), and person (Jesus) that is the focus for Christians this time of year.

We follow the ideas presented by AdventConspiracy.org: Worship Fully, Spend Less, Give More, and Love All. This Christmas season let us go back to what the foundations of our faith are calling us to do.

Youth Group this week:  Week #2: Spend Less & Give More

God’s relationship with us is built on love. There is no transaction that needs to take place, God doesn’t ask for anything in return. God gives us blessings freely and asks for nothing in return. However, when we share the love God has shared with us we are given something that money can never purchase.
