Youth News week of Feb. 1

Here's what is going on this week 2/1.

 Last week:

  We went to Foothills UMC for a special youth group. We enjoyed some yummy food and we learned about the life and ministry of Rev. Tom Farley. We learned about his passions of youth ministry and camp ministry. These continue to live on through his memorial fund dedicated to the youth of Foothills UMC & San Carlos UMC. During the program last week youth discussed ways to use the money that Rev. Tom left in ways that were honoring his life. The top 3 ideas (as voted on by the youth) were; Mission & Service Scholarships (Sierra Service Project 2011), Camp Scholarships, and Service Projects at Camp Ceder Glenn.

  We will take this top ideas and research specific opportunities for the memorial fund to impact the lives of youth at these churches. At our next gathering we will then decide where the funds will go. Thanks to everyone who attended the special program!

Youth Group next week: February 10                   Lent Preparation! 

 As Lent quickly approaches we'll prepare ourselves for our exciting Lent program.  The entire church will be engaged in the "Externally Focused Life." The program will include; creative activities, faith discovery, and personal reflection. To get the greatest impact of the program, you are invited to be at youth group every week during Lent.

Study Hall: Wednesday 2:30-5:00pm in the Fireside Room

-Come get your homework done before youth group. Snacks and refreshments provided.

Youth Council Meeting: Wednesday 4:00-5:00pm in the Fireside Room

-Please be there as we discuss all the exciting upcoming events!

Youth Group: Wednesday 5:30-8:00pm in Fellowship Hall

Our 2 S.C.U.M. designs are $5 a piece. If you don't have both the Black or Green shirt then pick it up!

Collection of Pop Tops! YOU GUYS ROCK!

-We collected over 5 gallon-size plastic bags of pop tops! We'll go over to the RMcD on Saturday morning. If you want to join us let Cody know!
