Youth News Week of May 17

Here's what is going on this week 5/17.

 Last week:

  WOW!!! What a weekend! From Friday to Saturday we had 25 youth participate in the 30 Hour Famine. These youth went without food for 30 hours and focused on their discomfort and how that feeling is so different from what they normally encounter on a daily basis. The program focused on the questions we have about God when we go through pain and suffering; we often ask, "Why, God?" We discovered the power that we have when we understand that GOD LOVES EVERYONE and God has blessed us with gifts so WE CAN LOVE EVERYONE. It was a powerful experience!

  On Sunday, San Carlos UMC hosted the annual Golf Tournament at Admiral Baker golf course. We had over 90 golfers! All the proceeds from the event will go to youth ministery! It will ensure that the ministry continues to grow and every youth who wants to will be able to participate. Thank you to everyone who participated and helped to plan this excellent event!

  We'll play some outdoor games! Come prepared with good shoes!

They are $10 and come in a variety of colors. All money raised goes to help UMCOR in Haiti.
