Here's what is going on this week 9/7.
Last week:
We closed out another amazing and "Marvel-ous" summer! Our final summer program was Marvel #5: Sharing Our Strength & Creating a Super Team. During a demonstration a couple of our youth found out just how heavy our burdens can get if we attempt to shoulder them on our own. We learned this summer that God has given each one of us gifts and talents that we can share with the world. We must also remember that we cannot go through life alone, it is through the gifts and talents of a community that lifts us when we encounter life's troubles.
I just want to say how proud and honored I am to be a part of such a "Super Team." I am amazed at the growth and commitment each of our youth have shown this summer is learning about their personal faith and putting it into action. I cannot wait to see how we are able to take this summer's experiences into this year!
This Week:
Youth Group this week: What Time is it?- Goal Setting & God's Presence
As we begin another school year it is important to take the time to set spiritual goals, educational goals, and personal goals. It is just as important that we consider God's presence within this process. This week we'll discuss goals we may have and how we sometimes slip into the dreaded procrastination (duhn, duhn, duhn!).
Questions to consider:
-When are times I procrastinate? What is it that causes me to procrasinate or be lazy?
-How can the presence of God help me stick to goals I set for myself?
